Abstract

The present invention relates to a compound for labeling microtubules. The compound is a taxane derivative comprising at least on primary amino group and a group X suitable for covalently linking the compound to form a conjugate with a labeling compound. The present invention also relates to a conjugate formed by a reaction of the inventive compound with a labeling compound comprising a group Y capable of reacting with group X of the inventive compound, to a method for producing the inventive compound, a use of the inventive compound or conjugate in a method for labeling microtubules, and a kit of parts comprising the inventive compound and a labeling compound.The compound for labeling microtubules has formula (I):wherein R4 is represented by formula (III):wherein A is a C1 to C25 alkyl substituted with at least one primary amino-group and one or more carbon atoms of the alkyl chain optionally being replaced by an amide group; andwherein X is a group suitable for covalently linking the compound to form a conjugate with a labeling compound.
