Abstract
The present invention relates to a residual current device (500) for low-voltage electrical systems. The residual current device (500) comprises:- a detection stage (2) that, in operation, is coupled to an electric line (100), wherein said detection stage (2) is configured to detect a residual current in said electric line (500) and provide a detection signal (V(t)) indicative of said residual current;- an electronic stage configured to receive and process said detection signal;The electronic stage (3) comprises a signal processing unit (30) configured to process said detection signal (V(t)) and, possibly, determine whether the electric line is subject to an earth leakage fault. According to further aspects, the present invention relates to a method for detecting a residual current in an electric line (100) and a method for determining the presence of an earth leakage fault in an electric line (100).
