Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body, a cover portion, a shutter output portion, and a main linking mechanism. The apparatus main body has an attachment portion therein to which a developing agent container having a shutter input portion that receives external force to open and close a shutter that blocks a developing agent outlet is attached, and a main opening formed to communicate with the attachment portion. The cover portion is capable of opening and closing the main opening. The shutter output portion engages with the shutter input portion and displaces between an open position causing the shutter to open and a closed position causing the shutter to close. The main linking mechanism links the shutter output portion with the opening and closing operation of the cover portion.
