Abstract

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to wrist- or forearm-locked virtual objects providing access to artificial reality (XR) system-level and/or application-level actions and/or functions. A virtual button (or multiple buttons) can appear at a particular location on a user's wrist, such as on the inside of the wrist when the wrist is rotated toward the user's face. The virtual button can be used to access a menu of available options, functions, or other actions with a single tap, or provide other controls with other tap types (e.g., multiple taps, long press, etc.). In some implementations, different buttons providing access to different functions can be placed on different wrists.
