Abstract
A system and a method for power control based antenna switching control mechanism is provided. The system comprises a plurality of antenna modules arranged in a daisy chain configuration. The plurality of antenna modules is configured to receive a control signal having an input voltage (V<sub>in</sub>) and a radio frequency (RF) signal from a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader via a communication line. Each antenna module comprises an antenna element and at least one radio frequency (RF) switch configured to couple the antenna element with the RFID reader based at least on a comparison of the input voltage (V<sub>in</sub>) with a threshold voltage (V<sub>th1</sub>) and a threshold voltage (V<sub>th2</sub>), wherein the at least one RF switch is configured to (1) allow communication with the antenna module in a connected state or (2) communicate the control signal to a next antenna module in a through state.
