Abstract

In a method of manufacturing a secondary battery, inserting an electrode assembly (200) into an exterior container (100) includes a first stage of inserting, into the exterior container (100), a portion of the electrode assembly (200) corresponding to a length of 2/3 or more of a main body portion (2000) of the electrode assembly (200) in a direction of a long side (2100) while grasping the electrode assembly (200), and a second stage of inserting, into the exterior container (100), a remainder of the electrode assembly (200) in the direction of the long side (2100) after the first stage, and at least in the second stage, the exterior container (100) and the electrode assembly (200) are disposed such that the direction of the long side (2100) is oriented in a vertical direction and the electrode assembly is inserted vertically downward.
