Abstract

Disclosed are an apparauta and a method of generating a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO<4>, LFP) battery model. The apparatus includes: a lithium state recorder configured to record a state of lithium (Li) in a positive electrode active material of an LFP battery according to charging or discharging of the LFP battery; and a battery model generator configured to generate a battery model of the LFP battery based on the recorded state of the lithium in the positive electrode active material. The battery model generator generates a battery model by modeling the LFP battery using a capacitor and a plurality of resistors including an additional resistance component generated based on the state of the lithium in the positive electrode active material.
