Abstract
A secondary battery includes a case having an opening formed therein, an electrode assembly accommodated in the case, a cap plate fixed to the case, and a vent formed in at least one of the case and the cap plate. The vent includes a notch that includes a notch penetration portion extending through the at least one of the case and the cap plate and opening to an inside of the secondary battery and a notch blocking part that closes the notch penetration portion.
