Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a battery module and a battery pack including the same, and more particularly, to a battery module for preventing the spread of gases and/or flames to other battery cells when the gases and/or flames are produced from a specific battery cell and a battery pack including the same. The battery module according to the present disclosure includes a first cell unit, a second cell unit spaced apart from the first cell unit in a first direction, a first side beam covering an end of the first cell unit in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and a second side beam coupled to the first side beam, the second side beam covering an end of the second cell unit in the second direction, and at least a part of the first side beam and at least a part of the second side beam may overlap each other in the second direction.
