Abstract
An energy handling system (100) comprises a DC motor/generator (210) for converting between DC electrical energy and mechanical energy, and a compressed air energy storage equipment (220) for converting between mechanical energy and compressed air using energy exchange units based on a flexible fluid container in a vessel. A controller (230) is configured for converting DC electrical energy into mechanical energy using the DC motor/generator and for converting the mechanical energy into compressed air using the compressed air energy storage equipment. The controller (230) is further configured for re-converting compressed air stored in the compressed air energy storage equipment back into mechanical energy using the DC motor/generator. The energy handling system (100) also includes a DC-AC converter for converting DC electrical energy into AC electrical energy, and is configured for providing DC electrical energy to the DC-AC converter (120) using the compressed air energy storage equipment and the DC motor/generator (210). The energy handling system (100) further comprises at least one DC electrical green energy source (110) connected to the DC motor/generator for driving it as a motor using DC electrical energy.
