Abstract

A display area (DDA) of a display device (10) includes insulating layers (ILD1, ILD2, ILD3) of a transistor layer (TFL) on a substrate (SUB), and a display element layer (EML) electrically connected to the transistor layer (TFL). The display element layer (EML) includes a bank (BN) in which a bank opening (OP2) in a non-emission area (NLA) and an anode contact hole (ACTH) in the emission area (EA) are defined, the bank (BN) having an overhang structure at the bank opening (OP2) and a side surface which defines the anode contact hole (ACTH), an element insulating layer (PDL) in the anode contact hole (ACTH) and covering the side surface of the bank (BN), a light emitting element (EL) on the element insulating layer (PDL), and a trench (T) which is in the non-emission area (NLA) and adjacent to the light emitting element (EL). The trench (T) penetrates through the bank (BN) of the display element layer (EML) and the insulating layers (ILD1-ILD3) of the transistor layer (TFL) to expose the substrate (SUB) to the trench (T).
