Abstract

The present invention relates to modular game controller 10 for video gaming and its parts 100, 200 as well as to a game console system including said modular game controller. The game controller 10 comprising a first part 100 and a second part 200, being configured to mechanically couple to each other so as to be operable in a unified mode. Further the first part 100 and second part 200 can be split from another to be operable in a split mode. The first part 100 includes at least one user input component and is configured to be used as a one hand operated gaming controller in split mode. The second part 200 includes a mouse sensor 260 and is configured to be used as a pointing device in split mode. The mouse sensor is positioned so as to be able to detect a surface being opposite to a second joint surface A<200> of the second part.
