Abstract

A printer includes a roller that conveys a recording medium; a motor that rotates the roller; a print head that prints receipts on the recording medium conveyed by the roller; a storage device that stores receipt length information including receipt lengths of a predetermined number of printed receipts; a memory; and a processor configured to execute a program that is stored in the memory to perform the steps of: calculating a representative receipt length based on the receipt lengths in the receipt length information, determining a maximum conveying speed of the recording medium for a receipt to be printed based on the representative receipt length, and controlling the motor to rotate the roller to convey the recording medium based on the maximum conveying speed.
