Abstract

A computer system (19) comprising processing circuitry (21) configured to: receive an indication (23) that, for a vehicle (1) having, in order from front to rear, a first axle (3) with a first set (11) of wheels, a liftable second axle (5) with a second set (13) of wheels, a third drive axle (7) with a third set (15) of wheels, and a liftable fourth axle (9) with a fourth set (17) of wheels, the load (L) carried by the vehicle (1) is lower than a predefined first load (La) defining an unladen state; receive an indication (25) that braking capability using the first set (11) of wheels is reduced; acquire a stored predefined axle lift configuration (26) for maximum deceleration in the unladen state with reduced braking capability; and provide an axle lift command (27) encoding the predefined configuration in response to the received indications.
