Abstract

An apparatus and method for predicting a life of a battery provided in an electric vehicle are described. A battery life prediction method includes generating, by a processor, field data through event-based profiling based on one or more detection results of voltage, current, and temperature collected from a battery; calculating, by the processor, a state of health (SOH) of the battery using the field data; extracting, by the processor, as log data, battery performance indicator data corresponding to an operating state of the battery from the field data; transmitting the log data to a server and collecting a life prediction value of the battery generated by the server based on the log data; and determining status related to the life of the battery based on comparing the SOH of the battery with the life prediction value of the battery; and performing an action with respect to the battery based on determining the status.
