Abstract

The disclosure relates to a goods handling station for transferring goods to and/or from a bin of an automated storage and retrieval system. The goods handling station comprises a bin receiving area configured to receive a bin of the automated storage and retrieval system, a first goods conveyor comprising a transfer position arranged adjacent to the bin receiving area, the first goods conveyor configured to move goods in a conveying direction towards or away from the transfer position, and a goods manipulator configured to move goods in at least one direction between the transfer position of the goods conveyor and a bin received at the bin receiving area. The goods manipulator is configured to move items in a substantially horizontal direction that is substantially perpendicular to the conveying direction.
