Abstract

The disclosure relates to method for operating a port of an automated storage and retrieval system, the method comprising: presenting, at a first opening of the port, a first container; receiving, within the first container, waste packaging; and conveying, via the port, the first container with the waste packaging held therein to a storage grid of the automated storage and retrieval system.
