Abstract
An electrical machine comprises a stator with a stator body (25) supporting an electrical stator (33) and a rotor (5) supported by means of a gas bearing comprising radial and an axial gas bearing sections (22, 32). The radial bearing, on the stator side, comprises a bushing (18). The bushing (18) comprises an inner sleeve (181) and an outer sleeve (182),• the inner sleeve (181) being made of a material having a low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion), the CTE being lower than 7E-6 K^-1,• the outer sleeve (182) being made of a material having a tensile strength higher than 50 MPa, and/or having an elongation at break higher than 2%.In the event of the inner sleeve being damaged or broken, it can be stabilised, and the bushing can be kept gas-tight, by the outer sleeve, which is more resistant to breakage.
