Abstract
Various aspects disclosed herein relate to a culture apparatus for performing nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, the apparatus comprising an insertion module configured to be inserted into a magnet of a system for performing nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, wherein the insertion module comprises: a sample container defining a culture chamber, the culture chamber having a sample volume and being configured to contain a sample of living cells, the culture chamber being in fluidic connection with at least one supply channel for providing a fluid flow through the culture chamber, one or more radiofrequency resonators, each configured to transmit a time-varying electromagnetic wave into the sample volume of the culture chamber and/or to detect a time-varying electromagnetic wave from the sample volume of the culture chamber, wherein the sample container comprises a cell support structure defining at least one cell adherence surface configured to carry a culture of living cells within the culture chamber.
