Abstract

An MRI apparatus (1) according to an embodiment includes a setting unit and a scanner. The setting unit is configured to set a pulse sequence including a plurality of sub pulse sequences to acquire a plurality of MR data each corresponding to a different one of a plurality of echo signals emitted from an object after applying a MT pulse and a RF pulse to the object, each of the plurality of sub pulse sequences corresponding to an Ultrashort Echo Time sequence. The scanner is configured to acquire the plurality of MR data based on the pulse sequence set by the setting unit. The MR data corresponding to an initial echo signal after the application of the RF pulse to the object among the plurality of echo signals in at least one of the plurality of sub pulse sequences is used for analyzing both bound water and free water in the object.
