Abstract

Methods and apparatus for generating a training data set for a trajectory prediction model, training a trajectory prediction model and predicting a future trajectory of an object. Trajectory data is received comprising a plurality of trajectory time series. Each trajectory time series is normalised to generate a corresponding normalised trajectory time series. The normalised trajectory time series are clustered into a plurality of trajectory clusters. For each normalised trajectory time series, a measure of variation of speed of the object during the trajectory represented by the normalised trajectory time series is determined. A training data set is generated by selecting a subset of the normalised trajectory time series by sampling normalised trajectory time series from each of the trajectory clusters in dependence on the measures of variation of speed of the normalised trajectory time series in each trajectory cluster.
