Abstract

The invention relates to a multistable switch unit comprising a lift mechanism a coding revolver and a locking and kinetic rotating mechanism. The coding revolver encodes switch states of the switches of the switch unit. Unlocking and Lifting the coding revolver from a locked and switched state allows to rotate the coding revolver to another position encoding a different switch configuration. Lowering the coding revolver by the lifting mechanism engages the selected switch configuration and switches the switches accordingly. The locking mechanism subsequently locks the coding revolver in the switched state thereby locking the state of the switch unit.
