Abstract

The present invention refers to solid and gel polymer electrolytes comprising bio-based monomers and a lithium salt. The invention also refers to a method to obtain the solid and gel polymer electrolytes in presence of a polymerization initiator. Furthermore, plasticizers and co-monomers may be added to tune the electrochemical and rheological properties of the electrolyte, which showed high resistance of lithium dendrites growth and high electrochemical stability at high voltage and against lithium metal in electrochemical cells in long term at room temperature.
