Abstract

A vehicle recording control apparatus that controls recording of surroundings of a vehicle by an in-vehicle external camera, the device comprising: an impact value detection unit configured to detect an impact value applied to the vehicle; a recording start unit configured to start recording the surroundings of the vehicle when the impact value becomes equal to or greater than a reference recording threshold value; and a door state detection unit configured to detect an open/closed state of a door of the vehicle, wherein the recording start unit cancels the recording of the surroundings of the vehicle even if the impact value becomes equal to or greater than the reference recording threshold value, when the door of the vehicle is in an open state, or until a preset set time elapses after the door transitions from the open state to a closed state.
