Abstract

A driver assistance method, comprising: - a step (E1) of capturing a succession of images of the driver, by a camera located in the passenger compartment, - a step (E2) of detecting a situation at risk of collision in a given area of the vehicle's environment, - a step (E3) of determining whether or not the driver's behavior is adapted to the risky situation, - then, (i) if the driver's behavior is inappropriate, a first management step (E4) including the activation of a driver warning means according to a first level of criticality and/or at a first warning time, or (i) otherwise, a fifth management step (ES) including the activation of the warning means according to a second level of criticality strictly lower than the first level of criticality and/or at a second warning time strictly subsequent to the first warning time.
