Abstract

There is disclosed a partition wall kit for providing a partition stud wall underneath an upper floor configured to accommodate heavy loads, comprising: a plurality of engineered timber columns configured to extend from a base to a head track of the stud wall; and a corresponding plurality of deflection brackets, each comprising: a base wall; a first side wall provided at a first edge of the base wall and a second side wall provided at a second edge of the base wall, the first and second side walls provided so as to form a bracket channel in combination with the base wall; and a connection portion extending orthogonally away from the base wall, and comprising one or more slotted holes, wherein: each deflection bracket, from the first side wall to the second side wall, is configured to fit snugly within a width of the head track channel.
