Abstract

The invention relates to a lock cylinder comprising a cylinder housing, an external lock barrel located within the cylinder housing, a rotatable cam, and a clutch. The clutch is movable to selectively rotationally engage the external lock barrel with the cam when a suitable key is inserted into the external lock barrel such that rotation of the key within the external lock barrel rotates the cam. A slide bar is located between the clutch and the cam, the slide bar having a first position allowing normal operation of the lock cylinder, and a second position in which the slide bar has moved laterally with respect to the first position. In the second position the cam is inoperable from the external side of the lock cylinder.
