Abstract

The present specification discloses a substrate and a use thereof. For example, even when the substrate is applied to a device for implementing transmittance variation by means of a liquid crystal host and a dichroic dye guest, it is possible to ensure low transmittance relative to a thickness in a blocking mode, and it is also possible to prevent the occurrence of haze in the blocking mode. Even when a spacer is implemented to be colored, the substrate can prevent an optical defect recognized by the color of the spacer in a transparent mode and the like. For example, the substrate can be used in a device having a transmittance-variable layer comprising a dye.
