Abstract
The present invention provides a control system (10) for controlling light emission of a luminaire (20) towards a surface (30). The control system (10) comprises a sensor (1) configured to detect light and having a sensitivity in the melanopic region, and a control unit (2). The sensor (1) is configured to be arranged such that the sensor (1) detects light (50) reflected from the surface (30) being illuminated by the luminaire when the luminaire emits light (40). The control unit (2) is configured to determine a melanopic equivalent daylight illuminance, MEDI, of the light emission (40) of the luminaire (20) using a detection result of the sensor (1). The control unit (2) is configured to control the light emission (40) of the luminaire (20) according to the determined MEDI.
