Abstract

The invention relates to a conveyor for conveying waste. The goal of the invention is to provide a conveyor that will not cause a buildup of waste in the surrounding area and will provide workplace safety. A conveyor (100) comprises a conveyor belt (1) spanned over two deflection rollers (3, 4), a drive (5), a trough-shaped support frame (2), carrying idlers (6) to support a carrying run of the endless conveyor belt, a plurality of rails (7) arranged on the outside of the endless conveyor belt transversally to its longitudinal extension to contact a base (2a) of the support frame, and a discharge chute formed as a cut-out in the base of the trough-shaped frame for discharging the waste material to a collection vessel, or a cover (2d) attached to the base of the trough-shaped support frame on the infeed end of the conveyor and curved such that the material that fell off from the return run of the endless conveyor belt is returned to its carrying run.
