Abstract

A copolymer comprising units derived from at least one fluorinated comonomer and at least one comonomer of formula (I): <img class="EMIRef" id="3d330197-b4a8-46d2-9339-73d9c95a19d1-ia01" /> wherein R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are individually selected from the group consisting of: hydrogen atoms; halogen atoms; carboxyl group; carboxylic acid groups; ether groups; thioether groups; amine groups; amide groups; sulfonimide groups; urethane groups; a phosphonic acid group; a sulfonic acid group; a sulfonyl fluoride group; linear, branched and cyclic alkyl groups with or without one or more substituents; aromatic groups with or without one or more substituents; linear, branched and cyclic alkenyl groups with or without one or more substituents; linear, branched and cyclic alkynyl groups with or without one or more substituents; the substituents being selected from halogen atoms; aromatic groups; heterocyclic groups; carboxylic acid-containing groups; amine-containing groups, amide-containing groups; urethane-containing groups; phosphonic acid-containing groups; sulfonic acid-containing groups; sulfonyl fluoride-containing groups; thioether-containing groups and ether-containing groups; wherein n is from 0 to 5, preferably from 0 to 3, even more preferably from 0 to 2. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the copolymer as well as a use of the copolymer as a coating agent or a membrane.
