Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for operating an earth compaction device, wherein the earth compaction device has an electric motor and a reciprocating mechanism coupled to the motor (5), and wherein the method consists of the following steps: accelerating the motor (5) via a first acceleration profile (110) for a first period of time, following start-up of the earth compaction device; accelerating the motor (5) via a second acceleration profile (114) following the first period of time, wherein a first average acceleration rate of the first acceleration profile (110) is lower than a second average acceleration rate of the second acceleration profile (114).
