Abstract
A liquefied hydrogen pump system includes a liquefied hydrogen pump and a control device, and the liquefied hydrogen pump includes a cylinder, a piston, a rod, a drive unit, and a seal unit. The seal unit includes a first seal member, a second seal member that is provided at a distance from the first seal member in a direction away from the piston in a direction of an axis, a flow passage portion of which one end communicates with a gap between the rod and the cylinder and the other end is open to an outside of the cylinder, and an information acquisition unit that acquires information on a hydrogen concentration in a fluid flowing out of the cylinder through the flow passage portion. The control device stops an operation of the liquefied hydrogen pump in a case where it is determined, based on the acquired information on the hydrogen concentration, that the hydrogen concentration in the fluid exceeds a preset reference value.
