Abstract

To provide an immunoassay method and an immunoassay apparatus capable of quantifying even if a measurement target in a sample has a low concentration. An immunoassay method comprising a step of irradiating light onto a container or substrate containing a sample containing a measurement target and a plurality of labeling particles carrying an antibody capable of binding directly or indirectly to the measurement target, after contact between the sample containing the measurement target and the plurality of labeling particles carrying an antibody capable of binding directly or indirectly to the measurement target, wherein the light is irradiated into a region containing the labeling particles of the container or substrate; and a step of detecting light that is the irradiated light and has passed through the region containing the labeling particles of the container or substrate, wherein a wavelength of the irradiated light is a wavelength that generates Mie scattering by each of the plurality of labeling particles.
