Abstract

The invention provides an optical system 1 and a method for angular scanning of incident light. The optical system is comprising an optical sensor 12, a first displaceable optical component 14 capable of reflecting or refracting light, and a second displaceable optical component 16 capable of reflecting or refracting light. The first displaceable optical component and the second displaceable optical component are relatively translationally displaceable parallel to each other by one, or more, actuator(s) 22, such that the incident light 10 is deflected to form deflected light 11 in accordance with the translational displacement of the displaceable optical components 14, 16, and the optical sensor is arranged to record the deflected light from multiple translational displacement positions 35 of the first and the second displaceable optical component.
