Abstract

A fixing device (11) includes a fixing member (41), a pressure member (25), a pair of holding members (47), and a pair of side plates (31). The pair of side plates (31) are arranged in parallel to the conveying direction, and have recesses (37) to which the pair of holding members are mounted. Each of the pair of holding members (47) includes a shaft support portion (53), a regulating surface (51), and an upstream groove (59) and a downstream groove (61). The pair of holding members (47) are configured such that, when the pair of holding members (47) are mounted in the recesses (37) such that the side plates (31) are fitted into the upstream groove (59) and the downstream groove (61), a distance between the regulating surfaces (51) is widened from the upstream side to the downstream side in the conveying direction.
