Abstract
An anode configured to decrease the rate of expansion in thickness direction which is due to battery charge and discharge, the anode comprises an anode collector and an anode layer on at least one surface of the anode collector; the anode layer comprises a carbon composite material comprising Si and a first carbon material having an aspect ratio of more than 1, and a second carbon material having an aspect ratio of more than 1; the carbon composite material is carbon composite material particles; the second carbon material is second carbon material particles; and, of the carbon composite material particles contained in the anode layer, a percentage of those that an angle θ formed by the surface of the anode collector and a line of the carbon composite material particles in long axis direction is 50° or more and 90° or less, is 62% or more.
