Abstract

An image forming system includes a processor configured to execute a control of storing a medium characteristic information group that is a set of medium characteristic information in which a physical characteristic of a recording medium and image forming control information for controlling image forming on the recording medium are associated with each other, a control of acquiring measurement information that is information related to a measured physical characteristic of the recording medium, and a control of determining, in newly adding the medium characteristic information to the medium characteristic information group based on the acquired measurement information, a characteristic of the recording medium related to the recording medium and the image forming control information based on the acquired measurement information, and displaying the characteristic of the recording medium related to the recording medium and the image forming control information as new medium characteristic information, while not displaying a recording medium brand.
