Abstract
A silencer (1, 1') for a ventilation passage (6, 7, 7') comprises an adjustable Helmholtz resonator with a cavity (5, 5') and a neck (4, 4'). A length or a width of the neck (4, 4') is variable. The silencer (1, 1') comprises a first and a second part (2, 2', 3, 3') overlapping each other, thereby forming together an interior defining the cavity (5, 5'). The first and the second part (2, 2', 3, 3') comprise at least one recess (24, 24', 34, 34') each. The first and second recesses (24, 24', 34, 34') overlap each other and form together the neck (4, 4'). The first and second part (2, 2', 3, 3') are movable relative to each other thereby changing both of a) a volume of the cavity (5, 5') and b) the length and/or the width of the neck (4, 4'). The inventive silencer enables an adjustment of the frequencies to be absorbed in a simple way, even when the silencer is mounted in an application.
