Abstract

An optical fiber communication system including: a plastic optical fiber cable 10; a light-emitting element 3, 3' composed of a micro LED array including a (a ≥ 2) micro LEDs; and a light-receiving element 4, 4' composed of a photodiode array including a or more photodiodes, wherein the plastic optical fiber cable 10 further includes a covering layer on an outer side of a plastic optical fiber composed of two or more cores and a first clad layer surrounding the cores, b (a ≤ b) or more cores of the two or more cores are effective cores that receive light from the light-emitting element, the cores are composed of an acrylic resin, and a static bending loss of the plastic optical fiber cable 10 at a bending radius r = 3 mm is equal to or smaller than 0.2 dB.
