Abstract
The invention relates to A computer-implemented method for reducing noise in spectral data, comprising the steps: receiving data by a receiver having a plurality of measurement bins, wherein the data is obtained from a sensor, wherein the data comprises an integer number of detected particles for each measurement bin and for each consecutive measurement, and storing said data in a matrix; mapping the number of detected particles stored in said matrix from the count space to a real space in which measurement errors are independent and identically distributed; performing a regularized singular value decomposition of said matrix.
