Abstract: PROBLEMTo provide a vehicle airbag device that achieves both an improvement in occupant restraining force and a reduction in burden on a windshield.RESOLUTION MEANSThe airbag cushion 108 includes an inflator connection part 118, a main expansion part 120 formed in a vehicle-rearward location from the inflator connection part 118, a front contact part 122 that expands from the inflator connection part 118 along an upper surface 102a of an instrument panel 102, a cushion upper surface part 126 formed in a state separated from the windshield 114, a front protection part 128 of the main expansion part 120 that restrains the occupant 112 from a vehicle-forward location, and a pair of rearward protruding parts 130 and 132 that protrude from both sides of the front protection part 128 in the vehicle width direction toward the rear of the vehicle. The airbag cushion 108 maintains a self-supporting orientation when the front contact part 122 contacts an upper surface 102a of the instrument panel 102 and the main expansion part 120 contacts a rear surface 102b of the instrument panel 102.
