Abstract
A suture pad and sheath insert, and a system using such inserts, may be provided. The insert may include a central body having an outer surface, a first end and a second end. The central body may define a lumen extending through the central body. The insert may include two wings, each wing extending radially outward from the outer surface of the central body. The two wings may be configured such that the insert is symmetrical around a first plane that may be parallel to and passing through the central axis, where the first plane may pass between the first surface and second surface of each wing and may be symmetrical around a second plane that may be parallel to and passing through the central axis, where the second plane may be perpendicular to the first plane.
