Abstract

The present invention relates to dryer section assembly (1) for drying a paper web (W), usage of an infrared (IR) device for drying a paper web (W) in a dryer section assembly (1) and a method of drying a paper web (W) in a dryer section assembly (1) during paper production. The dryer section assembly (1) comprises: a plurality of cylinders (12), wherein the plurality of cylinders (10) defines a cylinder inter-space (16) between at least two adjacent cylinders of the plurality of cylinders (10), a support device (30) comprising a support member (32) which is arranged in said cylinder inter-space (16) and extends in an elongated manner in said cylinder inter-space (16), , an infrared (IR) device (60) connected to and supported by the support member (32) and comprising a plurality of IR modules (62), optionally a plurality of electrically-powered IR modules, which are configured to emit infrared light towards a portion of said paper web (W) moving through said cylinder inter-space (16), wherein the IR device (60) is configured to cool the IR modules (62) by means of air in a convective manner.
