Abstract

The disclosed invention consists of a parcel delivery method, using a delivery van transporting at least one autonomous ground delivery robot (2) to a place of arrival, wherein the delivery robot (2) comprises a torso (20) with integrated electronics (202) and attached container (201) and at least four individual and independently controllable wheeled legs (21), each comprising a hip joint (210), an upper leg (211), a knee joint (212), a lower leg (213), and a wheel (214) with associated motor (2140), wherein the delivery robot (2) can deliver parcels from a loading area of the delivery van (1) to a customer's location, avoiding additional robot loading infrastructure. This is reached by jumping out of the delivery robot (2) with the container (201) and loaded parcel from the loading area and later autonomous climbing back of the delivery robot (2) with its wheeled legs (21) in four gait cycles.
