Abstract

A pump assembly (1) for condensate drain from a collection tank of a household appliance, comprising: a casing; a volute chamber (16) equipped with a suction opening (11) and a delivery opening (17); an impeller (3) which is rotationally movable inside said volute chamber (16) for pumping up condensate from said suction opening (11) to said delivery opening (17); an electric motor (13) arranged to drive said impeller (3) in rotation; a local control board (50) to control said electric motor (13); two electric contacts of a level sensing circuit spaced from each other, said electric contacts projecting from the casing and arranged to face, in use, inside the collection tank; wherein the drive of the electric motor (13) through said local control board (50) is enabled by the electrical continuity between the two electric contacts occurring when the condensate level in the collection tank reaches both electric contacts.
