The present application relates to a seat belt retractor, involving the field of safety technology. The seat belt retractor comprises a pretensioning component and a winding component connected to the pretensioning component. The pretensioning component comprises a stop wheel and a ball gear which is sleeved on the stop wheel in an anti-torsion manner. The stop wheel is provided with a first curved surface, and the ball gear is provided with a second curved surface. The first curved surface and the second curved surface enclose a ball chamber together, the ball chamber is used for accommodating a pretensioning ball. Centers of a plurality of ball chambers are located on a preset plane together. A portion of the second curved surface and the first curved surface are located on one side of the preset plane, and the other portion of the second curved surface is located on the other side of the preset plane. The pretensioning component in the seat belt retractor provided in the present application uses less elements, is easy to assemble and has good reliability.
