Abstract

A bolt assembly for fastening at least one structural element having a fastening hole, the bolt assembly comprising: a bolt comprising a head and a body, wherein the body comprises: a shank portion extending from the head, and a threaded portion extending from the shank portion, wherein the threaded portion is configured to engage with a nut or a threaded hole; a sleeve configured to be fitted onto the shank portion of the bolt; and wherein the bolt assembly is characterized in that the sleeve comprises a plurality of outward-extending protrusions and configured to undergo plastic deformation upon engagement with the fastening hole.
