Abstract

The present invention relates to a kit (10) and to a method for repairing a damaged pipe (90) for fluids. The kit (10) comprises a flexible gasket sheet (20), made of an elastomeric material, which is configured for application to an outer surface (91) of the pipe (90) to cover a damaged portion of the pipe; a flexible support and tensioning band (30), configured to be associated to the flexible gasket sheet (20) and a group (15) for closing the kit and tensioning the flexible support and tensioning band (30). The closing and tensioning group (15) comprises a first elongated element (40) and a second elongated element (50) comprising an elongated body (41, 51) and tightening members (70) configured to be associated to the first (40) and to the second elongated element (50) and to bring the first (40) and the second elongated element (50) closer to one another by tensioning said flexible support and tensioning band (30). The flexible support and tensioning band (30) comprises an interaction section (33a) with the flexible gasket sheet (20), and a connection section (33b, 33c) with the elongated elements (40, 50). The flexible support and tensioning band (30) comprises at least one layer made of a composite material comprising a thermoplastic or thermosetting polymer matrix, having a compressive elastic modulus, measured according to ASTM D695, comprised between 0.3 GPa and 6 GPa, in which continuous or long reinforcing fibres are embedded having a tensile modulus of elasticity, measured according to ASTM C1557, greater than, or equal to, 20 GPa.
