Abstract
A guiding elbow (28) for a laboratory automation device (10) comprises a first wing (52a) and a second wing (52b), which are angled with respect to each other; a first notch (54a), which is running along a lower inner side of the first wing (52a), and a second notch (54b) running along a lower inner side of the second wing (52b), for placing the guiding elbow (28) on a corner (46) of a component (24) of the laboratory automation device (10); a position detection area (56) arranged on an upper face (60) of the guiding elbow (28), wherein the position detection area (56) has two recesses (58), each recess (58) having two edges (86) with varying distance; and at least one alignment member (68) for generating a force in a direction towards the first notch (54a) and the second notch (54b).
